Brain teasing
For me, anyway. My highest level seems to be 6 or 7, but I'm not that great at puzzles. Good stuff! I remember logic puzzles in school that were similar to this sort of thing. It was a little difficult to grasp the instructions at first, but a few tries at an easier grid fixed that up and got me hooked.

It was pretty fun.
I had a great time with the game. The upgrades were well-balanced, weren't too hard or easy to get. Occasionally the cursor/ship seemed to move a bit slow. The later levels tend to get visually confusing with all the stuff going on in the screen, but that might just be me. The only thing that disappointed me was running out of upgrades, and really that's more of me wishing there was more game. Very nice job.

Hurray, a critique
It's a good concept, and I was drawn into finishing the game because of it. The character art could use some improvement, but you'll improve as you work, so don't stress over that too much.
The atmosphere works, although it could be spookier. Gun selection, as other people have already commented, definitely needs some other alternative as it's incredibly difficult to switch weapons. Money might be earned a little faster for upgrades, but I didn't have any huge problems getting to the end and customizing on the budget was a decent challenge. The dream sequences after each round became dull, also. It might help to mix things up a little there, maybe include several different ones similar to the beach (which felt non-sequitir without anything else like it).
The biggest problem I have is the ending: button-mashing on a keyboard, or even at all, is a horrible mechanic. I feel like a short maze or even something rhythm-based would have worked more effectively than "mash that spacebar."
I feel that the weapons and their upgrades were nicely balanced against the enemies, even if the AI did have a tendency to shoot at the ground instead of nearby targets occasionally. So good job there, it can be difficult to get things nicely balanced.

Very nice
It loops wonderfully--I tried out listening to it on repeat for a while, and it didn't get irritating or boring. In fact, it sounds like a much longer song if you don't pay too much attention.
It's also got a nice atmosphere to it, reminds me a bit of some of the music from Ergo Proxy. I was considering using it as music in a final project I'm working on for one of my classes, if that's all right.
For sure, go right ahead - and let me know how it goes.
Apologies for not responding sooner. I had problems with my computer and couldn't log in to NG for about 2 weeks.
Thanks for the review, SilverDragonGrrl.

Nice work
You must have more patience than I do to work out all those little details in the environment, they're impressive. The two guys in the foreground look just a little like they're starting to slide of the horses--not sure if you were aiming for that or not. Great job on the cowboy hat, and the clouds! Especially on the clouds. Those aren't easy.
Haha yeah I have no life. I can't make it perfect but this was very fun to do and a lot of work! Thanks!!

Lovely!
Really nice. If you hadn't listed the medium, I'd have thought it was traditional.

Awesome work!
That's two SCAD senior films I've stumbled across on the internet now! Great job. Gotta love Oingo Boingo. The personified guitar was especially fun.

This is your first of this kind of animation?
You did great! The motion is nice and fluid. The only thing that you might want to adjust a little is the bit where the marmot walks in, it seems like he's a little slow there, almost like he's walking on a treadmill. Otherwise you've done great with giving things weight and stress and such. I love how the tree reacts when the twig snaps, it gives a cool elastic look.

Awesome!
Very well done! I can see how you improved over the course of making this, the animation on the characters differs slightly as it progresses. Good story, too, I thought it was going to have a sad ending for a moment there. The music syncs nicely with the action, etc., etc... It's a very good piece of work.
